Simone Rocha Has The Womenswear Designer Of The Year Felicitation At The Fashion Awards: A Sneak Peek
Simone Rocha, who is known for her feminine and romantic style of designing, bags the Womenswear Designer of the Year at the Fashion Awards.
This felicitation by the British Fashion Council recognizes how her work and unapologetic style appeal to modern women.
Rocha has successfully completed many collaborations. Also, she has witnessed the growth within her organization.
She says that she had found her voice, and expressing her voice in her work made it unique.
Rocha says,
“I think what is really important is that your brand identity has to genuinely be a part of you – it’s an extension of you and your world – so putting it out there has to feel really natural.” (Source)
Speaking about building a brand, which is a perfect extension of her persona, she further mentions,
“I think what gives it its power is that people can identify with you personally and I think all of that comes from a very specific identity. For me, that’s what it’s all about each season; [the designs are] evolving, sometimes you’re moving forward, sometimes you are regressing, but it’s all a language that feels very true to me.”
Rocha is also very particular about her work, and she considers each of her tasks as personal. She remains aware of the things going on in the fashion ecosystem in London.
However, she refuses to lose her voice in the process, and that’s why her work leaves a signature.
The most remarkable thing is how Rocha has absolute clarity about what her brand is. She always mentions that her work is an expression of herself.
She also keeps the ethos of femininity in mind while creating a new design. In addition, she has her own interpretation of feminine ethos in modern times, and that is reflected in her work.
